The Knuckle Roll Poker Chip Trick

Version 1

Difficulty - Beginner
Chips Used - 1

The objective of this trick is to roll a single poker chip over the back of your fingers from your thumb to your pinky. The trick can be performed in a cycle once you are comfortable with it.

  1. Begin this chip trick by placing 1 poker chip between your thumb and index finger. The chip should be located just behind the knuckle.
  2. Push the chip up with your thumb until it will tilt and fall naturally over your index finger.
  3. While raising your middle finger, let go of the chip with your thumb. The chip should fall over your index finger with the leading edge ending up just under your middle finger.
  4. Pull down on your middle finger until it is even with your index finger. The chip should be resting between your index and middle fingers and is held with just the edge of the chip.
  5. Pull your index finger away so the chip falls over your middle finger while raising your ring finger. The leading edge should land just below your ring finger.
  6. Pull down on your ring finger until it is even with your middle finger. The chip should be resting between your ring and middle fingers and is held with just the edge of the chip.
  7. Pull away your middle finger so the chip falls over your ring finger while raising your pinky. The leading edge of the chip should land just below your pinky.
  8. Pull down with your pinky until it is even with your ring finger. The chi should be resting between your pinky and ring finger and is held with just the edge of the chip.
  9. To start the trick again, move your thumb to your pinky and let the chip fall between your pinky and ring finger
  10. Catch the chip with your thumb and press to the bottom of your fingers.
  11. Flip the chip around back to the starting point.

You will drop the chip between your fingers while learning this trick. Try not to use your thumb after the trick starts. It may help to run through this trick in "slow motion" stopping between each finger and holding the chip before releasing it to the next set of fingers.

Version 2

Difficulty - Beginner
Chips Used - 1

Perform the trick as is detailed in version 1 until your reach step 9 where you simply reverse the direction on the chip and let it fall back over your ring finger. Once the chip lands between your index and middle finger, you can change directions again.
